POEMS

IT IS YOU O, LORD
It is you O Lord, who gives me eyes to see
It is you who gives me ears to hear
It is you who gives me breath to breathe
In you alone is life indeed.
It is you O Lord, you makes my mind to think
From you come all wisdom , power and strength

But one thing alone you have left for me to do
You have given me a will to choose
Will I give you glory and praise?
Will I follow you all my days?
Or will my eyes be closed to see what you are doing?
Will my ears be dull to hear your voice?
Will my heart not understand your ways?

I lay my life before you,
My ambitions , plans and dreams
I give to you
Your will I will choose,
By your grace your voice I will obey
By your Spirit, I will say ,"Yes,Lord"
You are my life -I'll walk with you , today.

INVITATION
Come, come, come to the Saviour alone
Come into the presence of HIs throne..
Kneel, kneel , kneel at His feet
join in the fellowship sweet.
Come ,come, come to the Saviour today
Let Him wash all of your sins away...
In HIs sweet presence abide
Casting all care and duty aside
Go, go, go forth in the fulness of HIs love
Giving glory to the Father above..
Tell, tell , tell how He has made you whole
Tell how He restoreth your soul.

DO YOU HEAR?
Do you hear the Saviour, calling , calling, calling?
Do you hear the Saviour calling, " Come to me"?
With outstretched arms I'm waiting, Come just as you are,
Come and let us reason together, though your sins as scarlet be
They shall be white as snow
Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool

Come all you who are weary and I willl give you rest.
You who are heavy laden with burdens hard to bear
Come to the cross and leave your burden there

Come you who are thirsty drink of the water of life
Drink from my cup which never will run dry
My spirit springing up within you, an everlasting supply

Hear the Master calling, callling, "Come and follow me".
Leave the world behind you, my disciple be
Willing to go where my footsteps lead,
On rocky mountain pathways steep, seeking my sheep
Or in some lowly place abide, knowing I will never leave your side.

Someday the Bridegroom will be calling, "Come, come for all things now are ready"Come to the wedding feast
Will you hear His voice, will your heart rejoice?
If you have heard Him calling, If you have answered His call
Have let Him be your Saviour, Master of all
You then will be ready to answer that Heavenly call.

RETURN
Come, come, come unto me
Come , come , return unto me
I hear the voice of the Father callling, calling, calling
saying Come , Come , Come home no more to roam
Come, Come , come, return unto my love
I see your love expressed in your Son's hands outstretched
Forgiveness He is offering, a robe of righteousness
The angels will shout glory, glory, glory
A child has come home , no more to roam

I am coming , closer, closer, closer to your love
Closer to your hands outstretched , closer to your heart
I will accept your matchless grace, I will look upon your face
I am coming closer everyday , I have waited oh so long,
For you to fill my heart with song
Nothing in this world compares to my Father's loving care
And the glory He will share, with those who gladly answer the call
To crown Him king and Lord of all
I am coming home no more to roam

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD
The Spirit of the Lord is searching, searching, searching,
The Spirit of the Lord is searching the hearts of all God's people
to find out who is faithful, to find out who will serve Him.
for those who will not deny Him, a reward will surely be given

The Spirit of the Lord is drawing, drawing, drawing,
The Spirit of the Lord is drawing all those who will repent
He's drawing them to the the Saviour, to find grace and favour
declare to every nation the message of salvation

The Spirit of the Lord is calling , calling , calling,
The Spirit of the Lord is calling, the time now is nearing ,
for the Son of God to be appearing
The trumpet will be sounding , His voice will be shouting,
prepare your hearts my people, abstain from all that is evil

THERE ARE THOSE
There are those who do not turn back
from the labor and the heat of the day
through toil and tears
through stress and strain
In the harvest field they remain
The Father waits to greet them
with the words " Well done, my son".

There are those who will press on
to the goal of the prize of the king
In joyous rapture they sing
For they know that this life
with it's sorrow and grief
compared to eternitiy is only so brief

There are those to whom Jesus is everything
They have nothing of this earth to hold them back
because they have nothing left but Jesus

JOYFUL
. In the stillness of the morning,
Before the day has begun
I am walking, thinking of my Lord
In the stillness of the day.
If He was here beside me
Like the children I would run,
and leap and shout for joy
I would pick a bouquet of flowers
I would look up into His face
Filled with such glory and grace

Yet He is closer than beside me
He now lives within me
He speaks to my spirit saying
child rejoice
"Joyful expection, joyful expectation"
these two words come to my mind
In nothing I shall be ashamed
of Jesus Christ my Lord
He has run the race before me
HIs hope is now within me
His promises will not fail

GRACE ALONE
Saved by grace and grace alone
Faultless to stand before the throne
The gift of grace imparted, His will to do
That grace will never fail,
each trial to bring you through

His grace abounds in the gifts He has given,
His church on earth to build up and strengthen
Called by grace, to run the race,
It will be worth it all,
to gaze upon His face.

By grace I'm justified freely
By grace I can come boldy
By grace I'm endowed with power
His grace is my sufficiency

WHAT DO YOU SEE?
As you looked upon the harvest, Lord, what did you see?
Sheep without a shepherd, wandering, weary and alone
You came to die that they might live, willingly your life to give.
You could see the multitudes throughout endless ages
And the joy that was set before you was that their names
might be written upon eternal pages.

"We would see Jesus". was the question asked that day.
Your answer was, " I, if I be lifted up will draw all men unto me."
Lord, anoint my eyes with salve , that I may truly see,
The harvest that you purchased on Calvary's tree

CONTINUE ON
I must continue on
this pathway of truth and light
not turning to the left or right
for soon their cometh night
when no man can work
Continue in HIs love

Though sadness fills my heart
when dear ones turned to error depart
to reproof take no heed
I must continue on
this pathway of hope and faith

Continue in His Truth
Though all would turn against me
and I am left to stand alone
though some would scorn and ridicule
though I am frightened and intimidated
and my work goes unappreciated
Continue in His Faith

PERSEVERE
Persevere in faith
Persevere in asking
Persevere in believing
the answer is on the way

Persevere in kindness
Persevere in love
Persevere in gentle words
given by the Heavenly Dove

Persevere in temptations
Persevere in afflictions
Persevere by the grace God
until the victory is won

Persevere in justice
Persevere in truth
Persevere in joy
which follows obedience

Persevere in goodness
Persevere in giving
Persevere in serving
Especially the household of faith

Persevere in patience
Persevere In meekness
Persevere in humility
in His likeness you will be

Step By Step

Step by step , mile by mile, faithfullly walking day after day on the chosen path, sometimes walking slowly- sometimes stopping to ponder the way, sometimes running , sometimes resting, always keeping on to the destiny of home. That describes my morning walks with my dog, Ruppert. Does that describe the Christian walk? Does it seem monotonous- always the same? Do we sometimes wonder where we are going? where is this leading us to? When we first began walking with the Lord He doesn't require of us giant steps of faith and obedience but step by step teaches us more of His way. I think of another "step by step "of our little grandbabies first they learned to walk hesitantly step by step, then to proceed farther across the room, then to hear their feet go pitter-pat pitter pat all across the house, finally running everywhere .Then day by day, month by month , year by year they steadilygrow. Sometimes it seems they grow "taller over night", other times we see little change.. Sometimes we ponder (think deeply) wonder, about the way He leads us ; yet keeping on in the way He has chosen.Sometimes is seems we are growing faster(running) Always keeping the destiny of our heavenly home in view.. Day by day and with each passing moment,Strength I find...day after day He is changing me ..I 'm not the person I used to be. ..more of His likeness ,His image I see.

Bound with Cords of Love

This morning as I was walking I began singing about being Homeward Bound. I was thinking about Heaven. What a wonderful place to be bound to. How wonderful that I am bound to Jesus with the cords of love. Then I began thinking about what other things we can be bound to .Bound up with cares and fears, bound with shackles of sin. Jesus wants to set us free, like He did the man of Gadera. Bound with selfishness, pride or greed. Jesus is bound to His faithfulness to His Word. When my heart is bound to Jesus I am really free, free from all those other things that
would bind me.
What is it that has a grip on you
That you cannot do what you want to do?
Set your eyes on the man of Calvary
He will set you completely free
Are you shackled with selfishness or pride
And your fears that will not subside?
Jesus is the truth, the life, the way,
Cast all your cares upon Him, today.
Let Him bind your up your broken heart
By His Word the enemy must depart.
He has borne your grief and pain,
He will wash and cleanse you from sin's stain.
He has bound His heart to you with cords of love,
He will send the Comforter from above
He is bound by the faithfulness of His Word

God is the Ruler

Thank you , Lord, for the freedom to walk out in the country with no fear of being attacked. I begin to sing and praise your name, as Ruppert and I started down the driveway. Ruppert was in a great hurry this morning did not even want to stop to "smell the roses" (however, there were no roses to smell). I wanted you to speak to me , Lord , so I stopped , and then looking over the green ,grassy field and feeling the breeze you brought to my mind the words "in the rustling grass". I knew these words are in the song This is My Father's World..Thank you , Lord, for speaking to me , for remiinding me that this is your world, You are the Ruler and always willl be.
This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass; He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father's world, O let me ne'er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet.

Rule in my life, Lord Jesus, rule in my life today and always.

How It All Started or "A Dog Story"

One spring when we had a litter of puppies to give away, our son,Norman was living in an apartment in Euless (near Ft Worth)Tony picked out a beautiful white long haired puppy with some brown markings on his fur. Norm named the puppy Ruppert. Ruppert became a city dog and traveled all the way to Phoenix, Arizona, where Norm lived for one year. Then Norm moved to Atlanta, GA, and Ruppert traveled with Harry by car to Georgia. When Norm married Keri, Ruppert remained part of the family; however, Ruppert was getting older and not used to children so when baby Andrew, then baby Caroline came along Ruppert needed to find a new home. Lynelle was very happy to have Ruppert to live with her. They became very good pals.
Over two years ago Lynelle brought Ruppert back home where he started out. She moved into a home where she could not keep Ruppert. Ruppert having grown up as a city dog was used to going for a walk on a leash everyday. Well, I thought , this will be good exercise for me. So I began the habit of walking to our gate and back every morning. It wasn't very long before Ruppert didn't need the leash. He was now learning to be a country dog (although he loves to be in the house , wherever I am there he can be found. God has used Ruppert as a real blessing. Those morning walks continue....they have become more than just walks...it has been a wonderful time to talk alone to God and listen to hear what He has to say to me. So that is how "Morning Walks " began. Perhaps you will be inspired to also "walk with Jesus" even without a "Ruppert" to walk with you.

What is Significant?

What is Significant?
This morning everything was very still as I walked down the
well trodden path. The sky was also very clear. I lifted my
hands in praise to the Saviour. I waited....Lord, I want to
hear your voice. Nothing really stood out...the same stones
in the driveway, the same leaves covering the ground, the
same hay bales standing in the field....I walked along quietly
then all of a sudden I saw it...a big stump from probably
a very large tree and on top of the stump was lying a piece
of a branch. It reminded me of an altar. I thought about
Abraham offering his son Isaac which was a picture of God
offering His Son upon the cross. The cross....that is what is significant
That is what makes the difference in life everyday. May I live in the
significance of the cross today.

You are created for God's glory

Yes, your life is significant. Although the context of my last post was somehow deleted, I still wish to convey the same message. You were created for God's glory. That glory is found in His Son, Jesus Christ. You are so significant to God that He sent His Son to die for your sins and He arose again that you might have eternal life....abundant life...the very life of God living in you! For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God has ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 God planned your life before you were born ...He has created you with special gifts and talents to be used for His glory.

Never too late

I am amazed when I think about how marvelously God puts together a person's life. He sees all of one's plans, hopes and dreams. God is such an intimate God, such a personal God.
There is nothing too small or too great for Him. He holds the entire universe in His hands and
yet is not too busy to bring to pass the minute details of one's life. As I look back at my life I see
how God has fulfilled so many dreams, hopes and aspirations in His own timing and His own
wonderful way, when I thought it would never happen. Whatever God has in store for you, He will bring to pass even though you may think it is too late.
