Winds of Adversity

This morning was a cool 40 degrees, as I opened
the door to let Ruppert out I thought to myself,
"the wind is cold and the sky is grey today;
perhaps I will not go for a walk". Later, I could
see the brightness of the sun coming through
the windows. Perhaps I should go for a walk
after all. Just minutes after I stepped outside
I began to sing. There is something about those
morning walks that sets my heart to singing.
It is a time when I can praise and worship you,
Lord.
You came to me in righteousness and purity
You came to me in truth and mercy
You came to set me free and give me liberty
from chains of sin
from guilt within
You came to me in power and authority.

Then I began to think about the winds of
adversity. When the winds of adversity blow
upon my soul, I will not turn back. I will not
stop short of the goal of the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus. He is coming
soon and it will be worth it all

The cost is not too deep
The journey is not too far
The way is not too hard
Just go a little farther
Just love a little deeper
I cannot turn aside, but in your love abide
I must follow you, you will see me through
By His grace I will run the race

Perfect Judgment

As I was out walking, the sky was overcast; all was
still, even the grass across the field was not moving.
I was thinking about how God is so great and yet he
has knowledge of even every blade of grass. It
reminded me of Isaiah 42:2-3 "He shall not cry, nor
lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
A bruised reed he shall not break, smoking flax shall
he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto
truth." Matthew 12:19-20 speaks of Jesus fulfilling
this word. This speaks of the character of Jesus.
Isaiah also says in verse four, "He shall not fail nor
be discouraged, til he have set judgment in the earth".
I must not be discouraged with all that is happening
these days because God will bring forth righteous
judgment in the earth and His Word will not return
void.

No turning back

This morning was delightfully cool, almost cold ; however, walking I kept warm. Ruppert kept wanting to turn around and go back. I began to think what the Scripture says about "turning back". When Lot's wife urned back she became a pillar of salt. The children of Israel wanted to turn back from going into the promised land. Jesus said, "No man having put his hand to the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. The rich young ruler turned away from Jesus with sorrow.
In all your disappointments, don't turn back
Don't turn back
Don't turn away from the Lord who loves you so ,
He promised never to forsake you,
Don't turn back .
Don't turn away from His love,
He will see you through..
With outstretched arms He is calling you,
Don't turn back, Don't turn back.
I am praying for you

Worship in Spirit

With my spirit, I will seek the Lord
With my spirit, I will worship
With my spirit, I will obey His voice
In my spirit is His righteousness

By your Spirit you reveal the hidden things
that my heart cannot see.
By your Spirit from all bondage
you will set me free.

I will dance and shout and sing
and praise your name.
Let the heavens hear..the earth be glad
The Spirit reigns within my heart
The kingdom of our God is come

"God is a Spirit and they that worship him
must worship in him in spirit and in truth". John 4:24
