MARCHING

April 5.2008
This morning the driveway was muddy because of the rain so I wore my plastic "rubbers" over my shoes. Everything was very still and quiet this morning; however, as I walked on the road that goes through the field I could hear the "scrape ...scrape" of my rubbers on the little rocks in the road. It reminded me of the sound of marching. Today I pray for soldiers who are marching in Iraq....Lord, strengthen them, deliver them from the enemy, comfort them, give them wisdom, help them to know your presence....I pray for my brothers and sisters who are marching to work all day in labor camps where they are being persecuted for their witness for you , Lord. May they also know your strength. You have promised that you will not allow us to be tempted above that we are able to bear but you
will provide a way of escape that we may be able to bear it. I pray this for my suffering brothers and sisters....I pray for those who are marching to refugee camps (probably they are running) I can not imagine what it must be like for them but I hold them up before you, Lord. May they know that you are their refuge and salvation. Miraculously provide for their physical and emotional needs. ....

Onward Christian soldiers marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before
Christ the royal Master, leads against the foe
Forward into battle see, His banners go
Crowns and thrones may perish,
Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the Church of Jesus, constant will remaina
Gates of hell can never gainst that Church prevail
We have Christ's own promise which can never fail
