This morning is a nice, cool day with a refreshing
wind blowing acroos the field. The neighbors cows
are kicking up their heels, prancing lively across
the field. Rupert is bounding up the path.
Everything speaks of life. It makes me want to
jump and dance and praise the Lord.
Blow, blow wind of the Spirit, blow across my soul.
Blow, blow wind of the Spirit, blowing away all
chaff until the reflection of Jesus is clearly
seen.
I think about when I was little;I used to stand
by the river bank in front of my grandparent's
home. When the river was real clear I would
throw in a little stone and watch the ripples
go farther and farther away. If the river was
not clear I could not see the ripples. If the
river was clear I could also see my reflection.
The Holy Spirit(the river of life in me) wants
to ripple out to others.I need the wind of the
Holy Spirit to blow upon my soul in order that
everything that obsures the reflection of Jesus
would be "blown" away.
I also thought about the time in Georgia
when my husband and I were sitting on the
porch of a log cabin and we could hear the
rippling of the water over the stones in the
creek bed just below the cabin. It sounded
so refreshing. That reminds me of the
refreshing our soul receives when we let
the Holy Spirit refresh our souls through
the Word of God.
